Colouring therapy to chill out after home schooling!
Home schooling this time around is proving much harder then before, I’m not sure if its down to the cold weather, the fact we’ve been in lock down on and off for nearly a year or the fact that both my boys are now at school and needing to do work but I’m exhausted. So my therapy is crafting and in particular at the moment colouring, I love it.
I love colouring animals or anything cute so I just couldn’t resist the Hug It Out stamp set from the MFT’s January release. Its just super cute and perfect for current times, I also thought it could be used for many occasions so a perfect investment. I stamped out some of the images ready for chill out time after home schooling once the kids had gone to bed. It was hard to pick a couple of images so I think I actually ended up stamping every image a couple of times. I used Memento black tuxedo ink to stamp then coloured away over the week with a selection of my Copic Markers.
They were a pleasure to colour and I was really looking forward to turning them into cards. I cut most of them out using my brother scan n cut machine as I don’t have the matching dies for this set.
Turning these cute images into cards took a couple of weeks as I was only able to to do it bit by bit but I’m happy with what I have, I managed to create 9 cards in total and I still have a couple of images left to play with later on. They were super fun to colour and create with and I know they will become a firm favourite that I will reach for over and over again.
I managed to make a nice selection of cards using a few different technics and several of my supplies, I used some patterned paper that I have had for a while and also got to play around with some ink blending and a stencils. I now have a few birthday cards to add to my stash along with some cards that I have left blank on the inside so I can choose what to use them for when needed.
Thanks for stopping by and if your feeling stressed or mentally drained why not try and get lost in some colouring, its a great relaxer.
