This is yet another adorable set designed by Stacey Yacula for MFT. I adore all of the sets designed by Stacey, her illustrations are just the cutest most adorable images, wether it be penguins, mice or even skunks! The elephants in this set Unforgettable Birthday are no exception. Once I saw them I just knew I had to add them to my collection.
I stamped and coloured two sets of the images with the same colours just varying which balloons had which colours. I used my Faber-Castel polychromos colouring pencils to colour these images. I used some warm greys for the elephants, light cool greys for the mice and then pink, purple and turquoise blues for the balloons and cupcake frosting.
For the set that have the elephant with the large turquoise balloon I decided to create a slimline cloud background using a cloud stencil and distress oxide ink in tumbled glass. I used Lawn Fawns grassy border die to create two grass panels and layered them up, I stamped one of the sentiments from the set on the front layer and stuck it down with foam pads to give it some dimension. I then played around with the arrangement of my images until I was happy with them and then stuck them down the elephant with the large balloon is also stuck with foam pads for some extra dimension.
To finish off my card I added a blue card base slightly wider then my panel with another of the sentiments stamped inside along with the little mouse and balloons, I also like to stamp something on my envelopes if I can and the little mice from the set are so cute I added them.
For the set with the elephant with the large pink balloon I again created a slimline cloud background with a stencil and distress oxide inks but I used shaded lilac and spun sugar in addition to tumbled glass to give it a different feel. I used Lawn Fawns puffy cloud borders to create two cloud panels and again layered them up and stuck the front panel with foams pads for some dimension. This time I stuck the little mouse with balloons with foam pads. On the elephants balloon I attempted to stamp an age but didn’t like the way it looked and rather then have my card go to waste I stamped and coloured another ballon and stuck it over the top with foam pads so just the balloon has some dimension and I really like the way it looks.
For this card I added a pink card base slightly wider than the panel. Again I stamped an image and sentiment inside and went for the same little mice on this envelope too.
I can see this set becoming a firm favourite! Thanks for stopping by, I have listed my supplies below.
