More Valentine inspired cards this time with an older MFT Stamp set. I made two fairly simple cards with this stamp set, picking out the two little pigs that worked best for the Valentine theme, I coloured them with my Faber Castel polychromos colouring pencils.
For the first card I ink blended a heart using a stencil and distress oxide ink in festive berries. I then used some white glitter frosting paste from Glitz Craft and another heart stencil which I brought from The Range a while ago to create some texture & interest.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is white heat embossed onto black card, it’s stacked to give it some dimension and the flying pig is stuck with foam squares again for some dimension. The panel is a little thiner than the card base which means you get a pop of red to tie it all in. I finished the pigs wings with my Nuvo aqua shimmer pen. I stamped another sentiment & piggy on the inside along with another pig on a matching red envelope.
For the second card I ink blended the top 2.25 inches on my panel with Distress Oxide ink in candied apple and then used a stencil to add some hearts using barn door, I then splattered it with water. Once it was dry I stuck a thin strip of black glitter card along the edge of the ink blending to hide the small amount of colouring bleeding. I stamped another sentiment from the set under the glitter strip and stuck the cute little pig with foam squares for some dimension. The heart that the pig is hugging is finished with glossy accents which gives it some shine and dimension. Again I stamped another sentiment & piggy on the inside along with another pig on a matching red envelope. Although I used Valentine’s as my inspiration neither of them say valentines on or in them so could also be used for an anniversary or birthday card.
