Inquisitive Seagulls – Waffle Flower

Oh my gosh, who knew seagulls could be so cute!! This release from Waffle Flower is so much fun to play with. I brought several items from this release and they all work so beautifully together. They have been a firm favourite over the summer! I set aside an afternoon and used the dies to cut out several seagulls using the Inquisitive Seagulls Die Set and the Happy Seagull die set both are great and really easy to put together. I also created several backgrounds some using a stencil and some using distress oxides and water.

Birthday card featuring a seagull stealing chips.
Naughty seagull stealing chips

The first card features the seagull from the Happy Seagull Die running off with a bucket of chips! I cut him from white card and then used Copic markers to colour in the wing, tail, legs and beak. The bucket and the chips are cut from coloured card and the sentiments are from the Inquisitive Seagulls stamp set.

The sea background was made by putting different colour Distress Oxide inks on my glass work surface, spraying with water and picking up the colour, I did this several times until I was happy with the coverage. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon.

All of the sand panels were made by blending Antique Linen, tea dye and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide inks. I then used Versafine Vintage Sepia ink with the stamp from the Inquisitive Seagulls stamp set to create some texture.

The background for the second card is made using the Waffle Flower Sea Foam stencil again using Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean. The seagulls from this card are from the Inquisitive Seagulls die set and the sentiment is from the Inquisitive Seagulls stamp set. I love how cute these seagulls look popping their heads in! And how cool is the beach umbrella off to the side. This was made using the Beach Umbrella stencil and die set. I used the Waffle Flower Wavy Borders die to cut all of the sand banks.

I created the foamy sea line by using torn white card and also ‘Fluffy Puffy Stuff’ from Inkylicious. I love the look its given and the texture that its added.

Birthday card featuring seagulls with googly eyes.
Funny seagulls with googly eyes.

I made another version of the 2nd card but gave the seagulls googly eyes for a bit of fun! I have since made several more cards using these stamps and dies in varying sizes and card orientations, they have all been so fun to create.

This really is brilliant release that’s sure to put a smile on your face!
