Im a sucker for bees so when I saw the Blooming Beeday set by Clearly Besotted it was a no brainer, I just had to have it! This set includes 5 super cute bees each holding a flower. I decided to make 2 cards both with a similar design.
I picked 3 of bees stamped them and coloured them using Faber Castell polychromos colouring pencils and then used Gamsol and a blending stump to smooth them over. I used a black Sakura Glaze pen on their eyes to give them some slight dimension and shine. I then cut them out using my Brother Scan N Cut machine.
I used the Clearly Besotted Hive of Activity Stencil with Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed to create a simple background on both.
One panel is 4 x 5.25 inches and the other is 3.75 x 5 inches, I used just the 1 bee on the the smaller panel and the remaining 2 bees on the slightly larger panel. The sentiment is from the same Blooming Beeday set, I used the same sentiment on both cards white heat embossing it onto black card. The smaller panel is mounted on a white card base and the larger panel is on a nice bright yellow card base. I stamped a sentiment inside with another of the bees and I also stamped one on the envelopes. I love how these look and its a nice reminder that a simple card is just fun and effective!
