Oh my gosh what fun this die set is!
When My Favourite Things released this super cute airplane die and banner day sentiments stamp & die sets I just couldn’t resist. I mean look how cute they are and that before I’ve added a pilot and set thew scene.
I started by picking out some coloured card from my stash in order to cut the different pieces for the airplanes, a great thing about these airplanes is that they are fairly small so great for using up some of those smaller bits of card or scraps. The wheels and the propeller where a little fiddly but using a jewel picker and tweezers definitely helped. I decided to use the stamp set balloon besties for the pilots. I then coloured them with my Copic markers to match some of the colours of the airplanes. I then created the back grounds using salty ocean distress oxide, a cloud stencil and a blending brush.
I ended up making two A2 cards and one slimline card, all of them are birthday cards however there are several different sentiments within the banner day sentiments stamps so you could make a card for many different occasions which I love.
I played around with the placement of the planes and characters in order to fill the available space and I really love how they turned out, to finish off the card designs I added glossy accents to the balloons to give them a little dimension and shine. Each card has a stamped sentiment along with one of the animals from the balloon besties stamp set and each of the envelopes has the little sitting bunny from the same stamp set on it to give a little extra cheer!
