These adorable little birds are from the MFT set Being with You. Sadly it looks like it has been discontinued however you can still find it at some other online craft stores, Seven Hill Crafts in the uk still have both the stamp and die sets. I picked this set out when choosing stamps from my stash to make Valentine inspired cards although I feel it doesn’t look obviously valentine’s and would work well for an Anniversary card.
I stamped these adorable birds, the branch and a couple of heart ornaments out with onyx black Versafine ink and coloured them with Faber Castell Polychromos colouring pencils. I then cut them out with the matching dies. I die cut a heart out of some light blue card from Paper Mill Direct to create a window in my panel. To give the panel more interest I used the Simon Says Stamp ringlet plate. I used salvaged patina Distress Oxide ink & a blending brush to lightly create a cloud like background to been seen through the heart window. I used the MFT stitched sentiment strip in the same blue as the panel and also in white. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp being with you stamp set on the blue strip and then cut the white one in half and attached it to both ends peeking out to help the sentiment stamp out. The branch and the birds are stuck down on the card base showing through the heart and the little ornaments are stuck with foam squares to give some dimension and finished with some glitter glue to give them some sparkle. I just love how adorable these little birds look together.
