How adorable are these dancing panda’s?! I love an interactive card but I sometimes find them a little intimidating but the spellbinders dancing dies make it so simple especially these panda’s! It’s impossible not to fall in love with them. This super cute panda is from the Monster Birthday Collection from Spellbinders, I do actually have the monsters & dragon from this release too but I’ve only played with the monsters up until now!
These pandas are absolutely adorable & have minimal pieces to cut out, the best bit is that the dies have been made so you have to only pass it through your die cutting machine once! The head and body are one die and the ears, arms, legs and eyes are cut from another die. There is also a single separate die which cuts the ribbon, it really couldn’t be any easier!
So for this card I used the same kind of design as I had used for my sons 8th birthday card (his had the dancin’ monsters on it!). I wanted it to be slimline and for the 8 to sit in the middle with a panda either side, the large 8 is cut from pink glitter card with the outline being cut from black card, these are The Stamp Market Big Bold Numbers Dies. This was a bigger investment as each number has the main die and an outline but I have to say it was money well spent as they are a really good size & I have used them so much. They are great staple dies to have in your collection. The ‘Birthday Wishes’ sentiment is from the MFT Stamps Little Birthday Notes.
The panel was cut using the largest die from the Waffle Flower Slim Lacey Layers Die which has stitching detail around the outside. I then used the MFT Stamps Geometric Stars Stencil diagonally with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink to create some interest on the background, also adding some splatter detail with the same colour.
I cut out enough pieces to make 2 pandas, I wanted them to be slightly different so I cut one pair of glasses from the Smart Glasses Etched Dies from the same release in the same pink glitter card that I used for the big number 8 and the bows. I really love how they look and I can’t help but smile when I look at them.
In order to make them dance you just need to use some foam dots/tape when attaching the legs to the card, its super easy to do and there are lots of videos on YouTube of others putting the dancin’ elements together if you get stuck. And voila you have the cutest dancing pandas, that are sure to put a smile on both yours and the recipients face. I fished it off by adding a few pink gems.
