This is yet another adorable set by Hello Bluebird and I can’t tell you how happy I was to be able to get my hands on it during their blowout sale early last year. I have been desperate to add it to my collection ever since its release last year. The whole set is adorable but the otter is just on another level! I didn’t use the otter on this card but I most definitely will do soon.
I stamped the bear, bunny & squirrel out and coloured them with my Faber Castell Polychromos using gamsol and a blending stump to smooth them over. I finished their eyes & noses off with a Sakura Glaze pen which gives them some gloss & slight dimension.
The background panel is cut from the second biggest die from the Hello Bluebird nesting deckle A2 set. I used a blending brush to add stormy sky Distress Oxide ink all over, I made splatter marks with water & also white paint to create the look of a snowstorm. To give the background some sparkle I added some Dovecraft crystal glitter glue dots. The snow hills are made from white card using the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside borders. The snowy hills and the cute critters are all stuck down using glue. I also added the glitter glue to the edges of the snowy borders and each if the critters scarves and drinks!
The deckled panel is stacked a couple of time to give it some dimension and it is stuck onto some snowflake paper which I found in my stash. The ‘Have a cozy Christmas’ sentiment is from the cup or cheer stamp set & again that it’s stacked up to give a little dimension. I have used a blue card base, stamped another sentiment & critter on the inside. I decided to use a blue envelope which I stamped the adorable otter on. I always like to add a critter to the envelope if I can. I really love this colour palette & how it has all come together.
