I’m a sucker for penguins & Christmas cards are my favourite cards to create so this stamp set was always going to be a winner! I’ve had this set a little while now and finally got around to using it recently and I love how easy it is to use.

I started by stamping the large image and then set to colouring it with my Faber Castell Polychromos. Although it’s a large image it’s fairly easy to colour given that a lot of the image is penguins! it was just spreading around the accessory colours that I felt took me a little more time. Once I had it all coloured I used Gamsol so smooth out my images and give them a more polished look. I used a Sakura Glaze pen on all their eyes, added some glitter to some of the accessories with Dovecraft glitter glue, I also added glossy accents to the fish tanks & glasses. I don’t have the matching die so I used my Brother Scam N Cut Machine to cut it out.

For the background panel I used tumbled glass, salty ocean & blueprint sketch Distress Oxide Inks to blend from the bottom to the top of the panel. I made splatter marks using water, the same colours of distress inks used in the background & white paint. The panel is timed down to 4 x 5.25 inches, I heat embossed the sentiment from the penguin tree stamp at the bottom of the panel and then stuck the penguins above it using foam squares to give some dimension. It is adhered to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base, I stamped a ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment inside along with one of the single penguins included in the set. It is paired with a white envelope which has the other single penguin from the set stamped on it to tie it all together and I love it!

Thanks for stopping by, I have listed my supplies below.

Supplies:

Mama Elephant – Oh Penguin Tree Stamp

Brother Scan N Cut Machine

Distress Oxide Ink – Tumbled Glass

Distress Oxide Ink – Salty Ocean

Distress Oxide Ink – Blueprint Sketch

Paper Mill Direct – Pro Design 300gsm

Versafine Onyx Black Ink

Faber Castel Polychromos Colouring Pencils

Gamblin – Gamsol

Ranger – Glossy Accent

Sakura Black Glaze Pen

Papermania – Clear Embossing Powder

Dr.PH.Martin’s Bleed Proof White Paint

Dovecraft – Crystal Glitter Glue

This was a super fun card to make!
