I created this card using one of the gorgeous sets from the September 2024 extended kit from Hello Bluebird. This stamp set is called Fall Clean Up & it features some gorgeous foxes, squirrels & bunnies all with an autumnal look. When I purchased the kit I also added the oak tree scene die as its been on my ‘to get’ list for a while, I thought it would work well with all the stamps from this kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started by cutting the oak tree scene from white card stock, I then used Distress Oxide inks to colour in the different parts of the scene. I used tea dye & gathered twigs for the tree trunk, bundled sage, mowed lawn & spiced marmalade for the leaf area of the tree, I used the same greens for the grass & then speckled egg & stormy sky for the sky area. I used water & the darker of the greens & blues to create some splatter detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst my scene pieces were drying I stamped & coloured the images I had chosen to use with my Faber Castell Polychromos, trying to keep a similar colour palette. I used a Sakura Glaze pen on the eyes of my mouse & squirrel & also the squirrels nose to give them some shine and dimension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once all the scene pieces were dry I assembled then together straight onto my card base, I did cut a second scene so that I could double up just the white border. It was very easy to pop all the bits together, much like a small puzzle! The log, squirrel, bunny and one of the leaf piles are stuck with foam squares to give some dimension, the rest are stuck directly to the panel. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I have added some Lovecraft glitter glue to each of the leaves to give some sparkle. I have stamped another critter and sentiment on the inside along a super cute fox on the blue envelope which closely matches the card base colour. I think it turned out pretty cute!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
