I brought this Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome stamp set last year with the intention of making Fathers day cards but sadly didn’t get around to it. So in the lead up to Fathers Day this year I dug out and set to it. Now I’m toadally obsessed!! They were so much fun to make, so much so that I have since created several birthday cards using the same set & concept. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started by stamping several of the frogs out using Versafine Onyx Black ink & coloured them using my Faber Castell polychromos. I used a green Copic Marker (G14) & a white Gelly Roll pen to give some texture and dimension to the frogs. I don’t have the dies for this set so I used the Brother Scan N Cut machine to cut the images out. I Cut the word Dad out of some smooth brown card using the MFT Dad die, I cut it out 3 times for each card, the top layers for each have been embossed using the Spellbinders Knock on Wood 3D embossing folder. I used Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink to give it some shading. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sky background is made using the Lawn Fawn Cloudy stencil & tumbled glass Distress Oxide ink adding some splatter detail. The ponds were created using Peacock Feathers & Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks, again adding some splatter detail. I created come grass using Mowed Lawn & Twisted Citron Dstress Oxide ink & cut out using the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die. I used some foam pads behind the front section of grass to create some dimension & space for the Dad die cut to sit. The sentiments ‘You’re Toadally Awesome’ & ‘Hoppy Father’s Day’ were made using the Toadally Awesome stamp set, they are stamped on the front of the cards. I added some Dovecraft glitter glue to the flowers & dragonflies to give them a little sparkle. These cards are so fun & playful, I can’t believe it took me a whole year to play with them! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
